No more fumbling with six different caning combs to determine which set of teeth almost matches your weave. This single, adjustable tool will fit any hole spacing from 3/8” to 3/4". There are marked solid locking clicks at 3/8”, 7/16”, 5/8” and 3/4” and a mark at 1/2” so you can easily see your spacing. But the most versatile aspect of this tool is that you can also adjust it for any other spacing within its range, whether it is 13/16”, 15/32”, or whatever your chair maker decided to drill. The tines of this comb will still give you an even grid for the full width of the comb.
You can also use the comb to determine the size of your cane by finding the distance between the holes using the tines and then reading off or extrapolating the size from the marked chart on the handle: 3/8” is carriage fine; 7/16” is super fine; 1/2” is fine-fine, 9/16” is fine; 5/8” is narrow-medium; 11/16” is medium; and 3/4” is common.
