Pure beeswax. Perfect for Pysanky (Ukranian egg dyeing). Pinch off a little piece and put it into the reservoir of either the delrin
or the traditional Kistky, and then heat the reservoir in a votive candle flame until the wax has melted. Use the small opening at the
bottom of the reservoir to write or draw, with melted wax, on an egg or small gourd. Then cover the egg or gourd with egg dye. The melted
wax will act as a resist and will protect the surface from the dye. When the dye has dried, draw some more on the dyed portion of
the egg to protect the new color and immerse in a new, darker color of dye. We carry several excellent books and pamphlets of this
age-old egg dyeing technique. |
