A special wedge
shaped reed for anchoring the cane webbing in place. Be sure to
measure the width of the groove very accurately so that we can
determine the proper size spline. The groove should be at least
half again as deep as it is wide. Add six extra inches to include
spline for temporary anchoring wedges.
